DEFINITIVE OBSERVATION UNIT (D.O.U.)
Parkview Community Hospital is pleased to announce the opening
of our Definitive Observation Unit (DOU). This 8-bed unit provides care for
the patient who is too ill for a regular medical/surgical floor, but who does
not require ICU-level care. The staffing ratio is 1: 4 with continuous telemetry
monitoring. An appropriate DOU patient might include rule- out MI, CHF or
those who require closer monitoring than on a med/surg floor.
Our new DOU is located on C-Wing and has new Fukudah Densh monitoring equipment.
This new Telemetry monitoring system is available now on C-Wing.
