A multi disciplinary team of healthcare professionals have an important role in our successful program. These include bariatric surgeons, a psychologist, nurses, dieticians and respiratory therapists. Our staff is specially trained in caring for the needs of our patients in the inpatient and outpatient setting.
Douglas Krahn, M.D., FACS, is a fellowship-trained, board-certified bariatric surgeon. He completed his fellowship training from U.S. Bariatric in Florida and his surgical residency at Loma Linda University. His medical degree and undergraduate degrees were completed at UC Davis. Dr.Krahn performs the gastric bypass, lap band, gastric sleeve and revisions. He is a current member of the American Society for Bariatric Surgery and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has performed over 2000 bariatric surgeries during his seven years of practice. Dr. Krahn is committed to the specialty of bariatric surgery and to his patients, and his goal is helping patients achieve a tremendous improvement in their health and quality of life.
Channing Chin, M.D., is a board certified surgeon and is a member of American College of Surgeons, American Federation for Medical Research and American Medical Association. He completed his fellowship training at The New Program for Bariatric/Minimally Invasive Surgery and his surgical residency at The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He completed his medical degree at St. George’s University and did his undergraduate work at Louisiana State University. Dr. Chin performs the gastric bypass, lap band, gastric sleeve and revisions. Dr. Chin is a HealthGrades recognized doctor and is awarded HealthGrades Honor Roll. Dr. Chin has chosen to dedicate himself to helping individuals overcome their struggles with obesity. He understands the hardships associated with the disease and seeks to improve the lives of each patient.
John L. Coon, MD, FACS is a board certified surgeon and a member of the American Society for Bariatric Surgeons. He completed his surgical residency at the University of New Mexico and attended medical school at the University of Illinois. Dr. Coon has been performing bariatric surgery since 2003. He performs the gastric bypass, gastric sleeve, the lap-band and revisions.
